Our inspiration comes from the urgent need to rethink how cities interact with nature. As urban environments continue to expand, buildings have traditionally acted as barriers between people and the natural world. We were inspired by biological systems, especially algae ecosystems, which naturally absorb carbon dioxide and adapt efficiently to changing conditions. This led us to develop BioDSF, a double-skin façade that merges biology and artificial intelligence to create buildings that function like living systems.
