Nikolaos Konstantinos Martionos
Founder, CEO, CTO
I am Nicholas Martionos, a Year 9 student from Greece, a country shaped by the sea yet increasingly challenged by urban pollution. Growing up beside the Aegean has given me a deep respect for marine ecosystems, but living near Athens has also made me aware of rising air pollution, extreme heat, and energy demand in modern cities.
This contrast inspired my vision: to bring the intelligence of nature into the heart of urban environments. Algae, one of the most powerful natural systems on Earth, can absorb carbon, clean the air, and transform buildings into living, breathing structures.
My goal is to develop an algae-powered façade system designed for cities, combining environmental performance with modern architectural design. Enhanced with artificial intelligence, the system will monitor and optimize performance in real time.
This is not just a concept—it is a scalable solution for cleaner, cooler, and more sustainable cities.
This website presents my concept for a future-facing, innovative façade system powered by algae, along with the idea of a company that could develop, build, and bring this vision into reality.
