Nikolaos Konstantinos Martionos

My name is Nicholas Konstantinos Martionos, and I am a Year 9 student from Greece. Growing up near the Aegean Sea and close to Athens has given me a unique perspective on both the beauty of natural ecosystems and the environmental challenges facing modern cities, including air pollution, urban heat, and increasing energy demands.
Inspired by the efficiency and resilience of algae ecosystems, I developed the concept of an algae-powered façade system that combines biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and modern architecture. Algae naturally absorbs carbon dioxide and improves air quality, making it a powerful tool for creating healthier urban environments.
Designed for cities, the system aims to transform building exteriors into living, sustainable structures that help reduce pollution, improve energy efficiency, and contribute to climate resilience. AI integration would enable the façade to monitor environmental conditions and optimize performance in real time.
This project represents more than an innovative technology—it is the foundation of a vision to create smarter, greener, and more sustainable cities. This website presents my vision for a company dedicated to developing and deploying algae-powered façade technology around the world.
